I sincerely appreciate the emails I have been receiving as a result of my recent post which focused on the timing of an economic turn-around. It was geared more toward the general public if you will.
As for some thoughts for buyers of commercial real estate in these tumultuous economic times, I believe there are some very positive aspects of the market to be mindful of. The good news – interest rates are at the lowest levels since I entered the business over 25 years ago. (I still do remember rates of 22% in the early 80’s.) Owners of commercial property are becoming much more realistic in their asking prices given the dearth of qualified and financeable traffic in the marketplace. Balance has been creeping into the marketplace for sometime now, and for profitable businesses paying monthly rent with strong financial projects, I believe it is an excellent time to pursue ownership of commercial property suitable for one’s business operations.
