Boston Metro Area August Festivals and Events
Aug 1: The Pan-Mass Challenge annual bike-a-thon raises money for life-saving cancer research and treatment. Bike routes cross the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and involve cyclists, volunteers, corporate sponsors and individual contributors.
Aug 1-2: Boston Comic Con brings pop culture to life with celebrity appearances, a film festival, costume contests and gaming events. Meet the artists and writers behind today’s most popular comic publications, and browse an incredible selection of comics and merchandise.
Aug 2: 4th Annual Boston Seafood Festival features a variety of fresh seafood, chef demonstrations, live music and entertainment, craft vendors and a kid’s area. Come for the food, stay for the fun!
Aug 2: Picnic at the Park is a treat for Red Sox fans of all ages! This fundraising event includes an autograph session with attending Red Sox players, a BBQ picnic on Fenway’s famous outfield, live entertainment, a complimentary goodie bag, and a live auction of one-of-a-kind player-donated items. Admission ticket required, may be purchased separately, or in conjunction with ballgame event.
Aug 8: The Back Bay Chocolate Walking Tour is a pleasant one-mile, scenic urban stroll featuring chocolate tastings in various shops. Tickets required; event runs every Saturday.
Aug 13-16: Fisherman’s Feast is one of the oldest continually-running Italian festivals in the region, celebrated since 1910. Experience the tradition of The Grand Procession, along with delicious Italian food, live music and more.
Aug 15: Brew at the Zoo is a 21-and-over event offering crafts beer from dozens of breweries, local restaurant fare, live music, and all the amenities and attractions of Franklin Park Zoo. Special admission ticket required.
Aug 21-23: Boston Greenfest is a free, multicultural, environmental music festival with a variety of attractions. Experience interactive exhibits, forums, presentations, and continuous live entertainment on three stages. Enjoy the wine & beer garden, EcoFashion and ecoArt, displays, along with the GreenFilmFest, Electric Car Showcase, kids’ activities, great food and more.
Aug 21-30: The 148th Marshfield Fair brings you classic family fun with agricultural and livestock exhibits, carnival rides, live music, food and special grandstand attractions.
