It’s November, and the holiday season is just around the corner! Soon we’ll be rushing to finish holiday shopping and planning for get-togethers with friends and family. The holiday season always inspires a spirit of giving, and there are plenty of organizations in the Boston Metro area that could use your help to provide a wonderful holiday for those in need! As a commercial real estate agent serving the Boston Metro area, I make sure to be aware of charity events and needs in the area. Here are a few ways that you, your business, and your family can get involved this holiday season!
One of the most classic holiday volunteer opportunities is bell ringing for the Salvation Army. You can contact the Massachusetts division office at 339.502.5852 for further information and to sign up for bell ringing in your area. There are also other volunteer opportunities available for both Thanksgiving and Christmas through the Salvation Army, such as creating and delivering food baskets.
Father Bill’s, a homeless shelter with locations throughout the Boston Metro South area, is collecting items for their 2013 Holiday Hope Wish List. They are in need of new toys, clothing and gift cards to provide holiday gifts to the children and teens at their facilities. You can view the complete Holiday Wish List on their website.
Help bring cheer to the elderly this holiday season by volunteering for Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly! Volunteers are needed for gift wrapping, holiday deliveries, baking and cooking, transportation and much more. There are also volunteer opportunities available throughout the year.
These are just a few of the ways to get involved this holiday season. Get your employees in the holiday spirit by organizing a toy drive or other fundraiser for one of these great organizations! It’s a great way to create a sense of community within your business while helping out families in need.
