Whether you have lived in the Boston Metro your entire life, or you are new to the area, our world-class museums are not to be missed! Our engaging museums invite you to explore history, art, science, and architecture with immersive experiences. Here are some must-see destinations!

The Freedom Trail. The Freedom Trail is a unique collection of museums, churches, meeting houses, burial grounds, parks, and historic markers that tell the story of the American Revolution. This 2.5-mile stroll is the quintessential Boston history experience. Don’t miss seeing the USS Constitution along the tour! This is the oldest-commissioned warship in the world still afloat. Tours of the ship and its museum are open to the public.

Boston Children’s Museum. The Boston Children’s Museum has three floors of experiential learning areas for kids of all ages! It’s one of the biggest museums of its kind in the world, housing about 50,000 items! Most of the exhibits offer immersive, hands-on experiences. There is also a public playground behind the museum.

Museum of Science.  Get a charge out of the Theater of Electricity, and let yourself soar through the cosmos in the planetarium. This STEM-inspired museum has over 700 exhibits, and it’s never dull! There are plenty of hands-on activities, plus an IMAX cinema. Allow plenty of time for your visit. Tours are self-guided, so you can take things at your own pace.

Museum of Fine Arts. Over 500,000 works of art can be found in Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts! It is the fifth-largest museum in the U.S., with exquisite permanent exhibits and a wealth of rotating exhibits. Think beyond paintings and sculptures – this is also home to one of the world’s biggest collections of Egyptian artifacts.

There are other destinations you’ll want to see in the Boston Metro, such as the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum and the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum. There’s much more to see at the Harvard Art Museums, and if you take a drive south, you’ll find a number of historic attractions in Quincy.
