November has arrived, and with it comes a holiday spirit. Thanksgiving is quickly approaching, and then before you know it, you’ll be rushing to the stores to finish your holiday shopping. Something about this time of year suggests a spirit of giving. People want everyone around them to experience a happy and healthy holiday. For that reason, many businesses and organizations throughout Boston’s Metro South area plan fundraisers, food and gift drives and charity events designed to assist local families during the holidays. As a commercial real estate agent serving the entire Boston Metro South area, I make it a priority to stay in-the-know about community charity events.
Boy Scout Troop 138, situated in Braintree, will be holding their 2nd Annual Toys for Tots Drive on Saturday, December 1st from 12:00pm-2:00pm. Toys for Tots, which began in 1947, is one of the biggest holiday charities in the entire country. They collect toys for needy children all across America. Sponsored by the U.S. Marines every year, this charity is one of the most popular during the holiday season for local toy drives. Show some holiday spirit and make a Metro South area child’s Christmas that much brighter this year by donating a toy. It’ll be worth it when you imagine how much happiness you’ll bring a family in need this holiday season!
There’s also the Cradle to Crayons Holiday Book Drive, taking place every day throughout the entire month of November. Go to the Barnes and Noble in Braintree with a book, educational game or toy to donate to a local child in need. Not only will you be ensuring a happier holiday season for a local family, but you’ll also be nurturing a child’s love of reading! This is a great way to give back this holiday season on YOUR schedule. Since this is an ongoing event throughout November, you can stop by with your donations when it’s most convenient for you.
These are just a few of the ways that you can donate to local families in need in Boston’s Metro South area this holiday season! Get in the holiday spirit and get your business involved with a local charity. It’s a great way for you and your employees to bond and for your Metro South area business to help a local family have a happy holiday season.
