Through the winter: Public Ice Skating at the Boston Common Frog PondVoted as the Best Outdoor Ice Skating Rink in the U.S., by USA Today! Admission is $6.00 and under; skate rental and locker services available. Season passes available.

Nov. 27: Faneuil Hall Tree Lighting Spectacular. See the lighting of the tallest holiday tree in New England! Live entertainment. The Blink light and sound show, a six week light and sound extravaganza, immediately follows, running daily through January 6.

Nov. 23-25: Quincy Tree Lighting, Christmas Parade and Festival. An entire weekend of holiday fun begins Friday at 5 p.m. at the Hancock Adams Common! Ice sculptors, carolers, puppets and performers provide entertainment until the tree lighting ceremony at 6:15 p.m.

On Saturday at noon, Santa and his elves drop in to Pageant Field via parachute! Then from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., enjoy live music, food and beverages at the Hancock Adams Common.

Dec. 2: A Light through the Ages tells the meaning of Chanukah through story and song in a beautiful candlelight ceremony at 4 p.m. Reception follows. Held at the Central Reform Temple, 15 Newbery Street, Boston.

Dec. 6: The Beacon Hill Holiday Stroll begins at 6:00 pm, with Charles Street closing to traffic. Beacon Hill shops will be open late! Live music and refreshments.

Dec. 14-16: The Craft Boston Holiday show at Hynes Convention Center features hand-crafted, one-of-a-kind gifts from over 200 artists. Eclectic variety and fine craftsmanship! Admission fee applies, see website for details.

Dec. 5-24: See the Boston Holiday Pops perform your favorite songs of the season! Holiday concerts feature special guests and a light show. Santa adds to the spirit! Various performance dates throughout December. See website for performance dates and tickets.

Nov. 23 – Dec. 31: ZooLights is an illuminated wonderland of holiday fun. Enjoy camel rides, pictures with reindeer, visits with Santa and other attractions at Stone Zoo. Closed on December 25. See website for complete details!

Nov 29 – Dec. 31: The Nutcracker by the Boston Ballet will delight all ages with its colorful sets, amazing costumes and world-class talent. See website for performance dates and tickets.

Dec. 31: Boston First Night is free to all! Enjoy ice sculptures, light displays, musical performances and fireworks. Entertainment and specialty attractions will be focused in Copley Square and the Boston Common.
