The summer months may seem to be flying by, but there are still plenty of great events in and around the Boston Metro area to help you make the most of what’s left of the summer season. From a brew fest to a family-friendly festival, there’s something for everyone on this list!
Marathon Sports End of Summer Classic
If you’re looking to squeeze in another 5K event before weather starts to turn cool, look no further. The Marathon Sports End of Summer Classic features a five mile road race, 5 mile ElliptiGO time trial and a 3 mile untimed walk held entirely within Bare Cove Park in Hingham on August 22. Each event features a fast, mostly flat course on paved roads. Check out their website for more information or to register!
Fifth Annual Mass Brewers Fest
Kick off the Labor Day Weekend at the 5th Annual Mass Brewers Fest. Featuring more than 100 different beers from 30+ member breweries in the Massachusetts Brewers Guild, the Mass Brewers Fest provides an excellent opportunity for craft beer lovers to sample local favorites, as well as some specialty beers brewed exclusively for this festival. The event begins at 6 p.m. on August 29th.
Island Yoga on Spectacle Island
Looking for some relaxation? Enjoy a gentle yoga class overlooking the spectacular views of Boston Harbor on Saturdays from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Each class taught by a yoga instructor from South Boston. Bring your own mat or towel and meet at Spectacle Island Visitor Center. Island yoga is first come, first serve. Catch the 9:30 ferry from Long Wharf to arrive at Spectacle Island right on time for yoga.
Plymouth Waterfront Festival
Enjoy family-friendly fun at the Plymouth Waterfront Festival on August 23 in Plymouth. Browse craft booths and food vendors, or head over to the car show. There will also be live entertainment and a fun zone for the kids.
