Swan Boats open for the season April 16, weather permitting, at the Boston Public Garden lagoon. Enjoy a tranquil, non-motorized cruise in a picturesque setting.

The Boston Marathon happens April 18. The historic 26-mile race begins in Hopkinton and ends in Copley Square. About 30,000 participants are registered for the 2016 run, representing areas from around the nation and the world.

Run of the Charles Canoe & Kayak Race runs April 24. The Run of the Charles is the largest flat-bottomed boat race in New England. Over 1,500 racers participate, drawing spectators from around the Greater Boston area. Enjoy the finish-line festival with live music and food!

Boston Collage Arts Festival takes place April 28-30, featuring art exhibitions, demonstrations, live music, dance and theater performances; literary readings and film screenings.
