Despite any contrary predictions by the groundhog, winter will be sticking around the Boston Metro for a few more weeks! Fortunately, there are plenty of events to enjoy to keep cabin fever at bay. Here’s a sampling of what’s happening in the Boston Metro area during February!

Feb. 6: Red, White and Brew Winterfest takes place at Cyclorama, Boston Center For The Arts. This high-end sampling event includes beer, wine and cider samples of local and national variety. Three sessions available; Saturday Matinée (12-2:30), Saturday Afternoon (3:30-6), or Saturday Night Tasting Party (7-10). 21 and over only.

Feb. 11 & 12: Polartec Big Air at Fenway is a snowboarding and free-skiing U.S. Grand Prix tour event.  Athletes from around the world, including Olympians and World Champions, will compete from a 140-foot high snow ramp. Spectator tickets available to the public.

Feb. 13 & 14: The Boston Wine Expo offers delicious samplings from over 200 wine producers and 40 restaurants, plus seminars and cooking demonstrations. A gourmet must-see! Held at Seaport World Trade Center.

Feb. 13 through 21: The New England Boat Show returns to the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, bigger and better than ever! Explore the latest boats by major manufacturers, plus marine gear and accessories. Enjoy workshops, demos and meet TV celebrities.

Feb. 18: The Boston Chili Cup heats up chili competition between local Boston restaurants! Includes all-you-can-eat chili and live music. Held at Faneuil Hall Marketplace.

Feb. 19 through 21:  The Boston Globe Travel Show includes 250 travel exhibitors. Prepare for adventure with talks by travel experts who can help you plan the trip of a lifetime. Also enjoy culinary stages, children’s activities, and a beer pavilion. Held at the Seaport World Trade Center.

Feb. 28: Experience a Chinese New Year Celebration in Cambridge! See a lion dance on Brattle Plaza, take in a traditional Chinese New Year’s parade on Brattle Street, and enjoy family activities on floor 3 of Hong Kong Cambridge. Free!
