Dec. 31 – Jan. 1: Boston First Night/Day is a two-day celebration featuring New Year’s Eve fireworks, plus ice sculptures, live performances and special attractions. Held at Copley Square and the Boston Common.
Jan. 7: Revels Twelfth Night Celebration in Watertown offers a final hurrah for the holidays with singing, sword dancing, a traditional mummers play, hot cider and an appearance by Father Christmas.
Jan. 12-16: The New England International Auto Show is the biggest auto show in New England! See the newest model-year imports and domestic vehicles, from compacts to hybrids and SUV’s. Located at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center.
Jan. 13-14: Boston’s Celtic Music Fest (BCMFest) in Cambridge features musicians, singers, and dancers from Irish, Scottish, Cape Breton and other Celtic traditions.
Jan. 13-16: Billed as New England’s largest, most diverse Sci-Fi and Fantasy Convention, Arisia offers cosplay, gaming, films, meet-and-greet with artists and a variety of vendors and merchandise. Held at The Westin Boston Waterfront.
Jan. 16: Boston University commemorates alumnus Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with speeches and music at A Celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Free and open to the public.
Jan. 16: Martin Luther King Jr. Day Open House at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston offers free admission on Jan. 16, plus special events and exhibits throughout the day.
Jan. 26: Indulge in delicious food and drink at the Taste of Eastie! Enjoy samples from 30 local restaurants. Live entertainment and a cash bar. Located at the Hilton Boston Logan Airport Hotel.
Jan 27-29: The Suburban Boston Spring Home Show in Hanover features home improvement demonstrations, along with products, vendors, contractors and entertainment.
