The Boston Metro area is ready to celebrate a long summer! In 2015, we have 109 days of “cultural summer” to enjoy, which spans the Friday of Memorial Day Weekend, to the Monday of Labor Day Weekend. This means there’s plenty of time to make your summer plans! We’re sharing these June events to help you get started:

Boston Metro Area June Festivals and Events

June 6: The Cambridge Arts River Festival features live jazz, folk, blues, gospel and roots music on multiple stages. Experience interactive dance, theater, storytelling, poetry and more. There are over 100 specialty food purveyors and craftspeople, plus family entertainment and art-making activities.

June 7: Beacon Hill Art Walk allows you to explore the private gardens, alleyways and courtyards of local residents, who open their space for artists to display and sell their work. Tour the fascinating nooks and crannies of Beacon Hill’s north slope while viewing original, handmade art in a variety of mediums.

June 9: Taste of the Nation features 60 of the Boston Metro’s top chefs and their culinary creations. This is the largest gathering of award-winning chefs from around the region. Enjoy delicious tastings paired with the best beer, wine and spirits of Boston. All proceeds from the event benefit children’s charity.

June 13: The South Shore Indie Music Festival is a live music event featuring 20 of the Boston Metro’s best independent bands. Food vendors and craft artists will be on site. Proceeds will benefit Fuller Craft Museum. Space is limited, purchase your tickets in advance!

June 13-14: Boston Irish Festival offers live music, an Irish dance competition, Gaelic Athletic Games, a 5K race, an Irish market, and other live performances. Located at the Irish Cultural Centre in Canton.

June 13-14: German Sommerfest is a small festival with big fun, featuring German food and beers, live music, dancing and kids’ games. Located at the German club in Walpole.

June 19-21: South Shore Arts Festival  features 100 juried exhibitors, live music, art demonstrations, and children’s art activities.

June 27: Boston JerkFest is an indoor/outdoor, family-friendly Caribbean-style food festival. The festival celebrates Jamaican jerk-spiced food and all things spicy and hot. Located at the Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology.
